Chkoun ?Who is it for?

Tunis or Toronto, kif kif

In the same class, children from Tunisia and children of the diaspora. They would never have met: they learn together.

Your child is growing up far from Tunisia

Every week, they meet Tunisian classmates, trainers who lead from Tunis, and examples of entrepreneurs from back home. Derja flows around the class: they hear it, and speak it if they feel like it.

You live in Tunisia, far from Tunis

Our in-person workshops take place in Tunis. Graines en ligne brings the same spirit to Bizerte, Sfax, Gabès or Tataouine, with no commute and no move.

Mixed groups

Children from Tunisia and from the diaspora in the same group.

Trainers in Tunis

Sessions are led by the Tunisian Graines team.

Tunisian entrepreneurs

The examples we study come from Tunisia first.

Derja in class

French is the working language; derja flows freely.

The little class dictionary

A few words of Tunisian derja your child will hear. Tap a word.

Chnowa ?What do they learn?

A reflex for life: see a problem, invent a solution

No need to arrive with an idea. Your child learns to observe the world around them, spot a problem, imagine a useful solution and present it with confidence.

Chouf !

Look!

Observe

Looking at the world around you with curiosity and attention.

Chnowa el mochkla ?

What's the problem?

Spot a problem

Identifying what could be improved, for yourself, for others, for the planet.

3andi fikra !

I have an idea!

Imagine a solution

Coming up with ideas, discussing them, choosing the most useful and the most feasible.

Aya nebdew !

Come on, let's start!

Act and present

Taking action, then standing up for your idea in front of others.

Examples from back home

The child raises a hand or reacts with a gesture. The trainer sees the hands in order: everyone gets a turn.

  • Live quizzes

Between two sessions

A small mission to carry out away from the screen, to come back with something to tell.

Your questions, our answers

What language are the sessions in?

In French. Your child needs to be comfortable following a session in French; Tunisian derja naturally mixes in. This page is in English to help parents: the class itself is not.

My child doesn't speak derja. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Nobody has to speak it. They hear it, gradually understand it, and join in if they feel like it.

Do they need a project idea already?

No. Graines d'Entrepreneurs is open to every child: this is where they learn to come up with ideas.

What is the schedule?

It is not set yet. We fix it from the preferred times and time zones of pre-registered families, then propose it to you.

My child is under 11 or over 14.

For now, Graines en ligne is designed for 11-14 year olds. Pre-register anyway: we will know which ages to open new groups for, and we will keep you posted.

We live in Tunisia. Can we sign up?

Yes, the programme is made for that too. And if you live in Tunis, the in-person Annual Programme is also there for you.

What does my child need?

A computer or tablet with camera and microphone, and a good connection. Headphones are recommended. There is nothing to install.
